Lewis A. Weinstein
Lewis A. Weinstein is the founder of GenerationTax. He is a third generation tax accountant and brings over thirty years of tax experience to work for each of his clients. Lewis has a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from the University of Arizona (May 1984) and is a former certified IRS Volunteer Income Tax Assistant. In 2000, Lewis was named by Accounting Today as one of the “Top 100 Most Influential People” in the tax profession.

Prior to GenerationTax, Lewis founded the TaxLogic Corporation in 1995. TaxLogic was the nations first online tax preparation service. TaxLogic went on to form strategic partnerships with America Online (AOL), Prodigy and USAToday.com. From 1995 thru 1999, TaxLogic was AOL’s exclusive provider for answering tax questions on AOL’s message boards.

In addition to GenerationTax, Lewis is a tax columnist and frequent lecturer. Lewis has been interviewed for stories on tax preparation by the NBC, CBS and Gannett television Networks. He is the recipient of the Platinum Peacock Award from the Harvard Business Schools 1995 Service Management Course for outstanding service to the community.

Chris Ristau

Chris Ristau is a Partner with GenerationTax. He specializes in a broad range of tax situations including multi-state tax returns, carry and co-investment income, stock options, IRA distributions, Roth conversions, relocation expenses, graduate school expenses, business use of home, foreign income, sole proprietorships, start-ups, rental properties, corporate returns, LLCs, trusts, and international tax returns.

Chris brings over 25 years of tax, accounting and finance expertise to the firm. He began his career as an investment banker on Wall Street and served as the CFO of Coregistics and PLS Logsitics Services. Chris has a Bachelors of Arts from Northwestern University (1995).

Joe Lavin

Joe Lavin is the newest addition to GenerationTax. He brings more than ten years of experience to the firm, including time at Morgan Stanley, Apple, and the Marine Corps Reserve.

Motivated by a passion for personal finance and a commitment to ensuring clients maximize their tax benefits, Joe looks forward to learning about your unique situation and how we can work together on tax planning and tax strategy.

Joe holds degrees from Villanova University (BBA) and the MIT Sloan School of Management (MBA). Additionally, Joe is an Enrolled Agent and CFA charterholder.
